My House to the White House
National Children's Museum Washington, DC
Amaze Design is working with the National Children's Museum to develop a gallery called My House to the White House which focuses on "connecting kids to community and citizenship." The gallery will encourage children to be good, active citizens by exercising their civic rights and responsibilities, and to 'Get Smart, Speak Out, and Participate!'
Through playful, kid-sized models of Washington buildings and monuments, Kids Washington will introduce children to their national government. They can explore the Oval Office; enter the Capitol as a new member of Congress; try on a Supreme Court Justice's robe; even ride in the backseat of the presidential limousine! In My Town, a kid-size model of a typical American town, children can meet the mayor while registering to vote; participate in a local election, and even find themselves running for elected office!
