Andrew Anway | President
Mr. Anway serves as Amaze Design's visionary and motivational force. With over
25 years of experience in all phases of facility planning, design, and construction
management, Andy is a design and facility planning veteran. Andy is a known innovator
in the world of museum exhibition, visitor centers, and cultural attraction design.
As a Vice President with Fidelity Investments, he spearheaded design, construction,
and asset management for a $700 billion corporation. Under Andy's leadership
Fidelity's design and construction organization created retail, office, investment
and computer facilities for over 2 million square feet of space. In 1993 Andy
started Anway & Company and in 1998 he acquired Joseph A. Wetzel Associates,
which together are now Amaze Design. Throughout his career, Andy has implemented
successful facility planning strategies, built award-winning exhibition designs
for museums, aquariums, visitor centers and cultural attractions such as the
National Museum of Australia, Petrosains in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and The Vulcan Park Visitor Center, just to name a few.
Andy holds a BA in history from Boston College.
Sara W. Smith | Director of Exhibit Development
Ms. Smith joined Amaze Design in 1996 and has led the development of museum exhibits for clients such as The National Museum of Australia, Longyear Museum, and Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail. Sara's extensive background in sociocultural anthropology allows her to bring sensitivity and perspective to her exhibit development work. Ten years of working within museums prior to coming to Amaze Design gives Sara a broad understanding of the needs of museums and their staff today. Sara holds a bachelors degree in Anthropology from Brown University and a Masters of Sociocultural Anthropology from the University of Washington.
