Over a 10 year period of collaboration with architects and zoo staff, Amaze Design developed a 200-acre, zoo-wide master plan, and interpretive storyline and complete design for each of six distinct habitat-based exhibits: Sonoran Desert, Pacific Rocky coast, Cypress Swamp, North Carolina Streamside, Southern Marsh, and American Great Plains. Amaze Design also designed the Touch and Learn Center for children, which tells the story of plant and animal domestication. All wayfinding and interpretive graphics were designed by Amaze Design . The park has gained recognition among zoological professionals as a landmark for interpretive design.
